Monday, October 7, 2024
About Rob: Rob joined the NGN team in December 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience in A/V support for live events. His background includes working as a lead technician for concerts, festivals, and corporate events, where he gained extensive knowledge of various A/V systems and learned how to solve technical challenges quickly and effectively. Rob’s adaptability, along with his ability to understand the needs of diverse environments, has made him an invaluable addition to the NGN team.

Rob’s NGN Journey: As an A/V Specialist, Rob is responsible for the discovery and preparation of A/V devices as they transition to NGN. His role involves working closely with outside vendors, as well as engaging with stakeholders to better understand the specific uses of their equipment. Whether it’s a conference room or a historic lecture hall, Rob ensures that all A/V devices meet the necessary standards to transition to NGN while preserving the unique charm of each space.

Exciting Challenges: For Rob, the thrill comes from stepping into a new space and assessing the gear. He enjoys seeing Yale’s iconic and historic buildings upgraded with the latest technology, all while maintaining their original architectural beauty. Each new building presents its own set of challenges, and Rob’s ability to adapt and problem-solve has been key to ensuring the successful transition of A/V systems across Yale’s campus.

Beyond the Office: Outside of work, Rob is a musician who plays in a folk band that regularly performs around New Haven. When he’s not strumming his guitar, you can find him enjoying time on the water during the summer or hitting the slopes in New Hampshire during the winter for some snowboarding. A Rhode Island native, Rob has a special connection to the coast, but these days, much of his time is spent with Fiona, his 3-legged retired racing greyhound, who keeps him company on his outdoor adventures.

Favorite Place on Campus: Rob’s favorite spot on campus is the dog park on St. Ronan Street, which is part of the Divinity School. It’s a place where he and Fiona can relax and enjoy the company of other dog owners in the community.
